Technical Session: Dam Integrity

For this month’s Technical event, we are pleased to announce a presentation on When Your Road is a Dam. Many state, county and local roadway embankments (and some railroad embankments) also serve as dam embankments, holding back lakes for recreation, water supply and other uses. With this comes challenges in design with geotechnical, hydrologic and hydraulic conditions which are quite different from that of a typical roadway or railroad embankment. This presentation will touch on these design differences when facing reconstruction or rehabilitation of a bridge or roadway embankment serving as a dam.
