ASHE is the most broad-based, inclusive organization for people involved in the highway industry. Members are practitioners involved in all areas of the highway industry: planning, design, construction, materials and equipment, inspection, marketing, management, maintenance, operations, safety, and training. Members include federal, state, and local highway officials, contractors, consultants, vendors and suppliers, engineering students and professors, and public utilities. ASHE provides opportunities for technical growth, business networking, broadening your understanding of all phases of the highway industry, and fellowship.
ASHE SNJ is affordable, grass roots-oriented, and focused on issues that affect people in the highway industry. A professional engineering license is not required, so our membership includes all people who provide support for our highway system.
Students are encouraged to become members of the SNJ Chapter. We support student chapters and offer scholarships to worthy civil engineering students in NJ. Membership is not required to win a scholarship. See our Scholarships page for more information on how to apply.
Chapter membership includes all the benefits of membership in the national organization such as:
- Lapel pin and certificate
- Publications: quarterly ASHE Scanner magazine, monthly national and chapter newsletters, weekly emails summarizing transportation news from around the US.
- Annual National Conferences
In addition, the Southern New Jersey Chapter offers:
- Monthly dinner meetings showcasing interesting highway and bridge projects and local transportation issues presented by respected transportation leaders and innovators
- Field trips to interesting highway and bridge projects in NJ
- Opportunities to network with highway practitioners in other companies and agencies
- Project of the Year Awards to outstanding NJ transportation projects
- Annual student scholarships
- Social events such as golf outings and celebrations
- Employment advertisements and resume postings on our website
To join, select a New ASHE SNJ Membership level below, select a payment method, and email a completed ASHE SNJ Membership Application to ASHE SNJ Secretary Chris Siwczak at chris.siwczak@collierseng.com . The membership form is required by ASHE National.
