The Southern New Jersey and North Central New Jersey Sections of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) invite you to participate in their 2026 Award Program to honor consulting engineering firms, contractors, and transportation officials in their efforts to provide quality roadway facilities in New Jersey.

Project of the Year Award Dinner
Projects receiving this distinction are fast-tracked for submission to 2027 National ASHE POTY competition.
Under $5 Million in Total Construction Cost
$5 Million and $30 million in Total Construction Cost
$30 Million and $100 million in Total Construction Cost
Over $100 million in Total Construction Cost
DBE Award! - DBE's who have worked on at least 10% of a project can apply as a prime or sub!
eligibility
Any project that was substantially completed and open to the public by December 31, 2026, and no more than two calendar years immediately prior to the 2027 American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) National Annual Conference shall be considered eligible for the National Project of the Year competition provided the project involves at least one of the following transportation features:
Previous winning projects are not eligible.
Each submittal will be judged based on the written description using following criteria:
- 25% Complexity
- 25% New Application of Existing Technologies/Originality/Innovation
- 15% Social/Economic Considerations
- 15% Safety
- 10% Aesthetics and Sustainable Features
- 10% Meeting and Exceeding Owner’s/Client’s Needs
