Projects UNDER $20 Million in construction cost

Projects OVER $20 Million in construction cost

eligibility

Any project that was substantially completed and open to the public by December 31, 2023, and no more than two calendar years immediately prior to the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) National Annual Conference shall be considered eligible for the National Project of the Year competition provided the project involves at least one of the following transportation features:

Bikeways and Multi‐use Paths
Bridges
 Traffic Control/Signalization (Includes ITS)
 Railroads Public Transit 
Highways/Roadways

Previous winning projects are not eligible. 

CRITERIA

Each submittal will be judged based on the following criteria:  

• 25% Complexity
• 25% New Application of Existing Technologies/Originality/Innovation

• 15% Social/Economic Considerations

• 15% Safety

• 10% Aesthetics and Sustainable Features

• 10% Meeting and Exceeding Owner’s/Client’s Needs
